July’s First Friday in the Calumet Art district will feature openings at multiple galleries – a great way to to kick off the Fourth of July weekend! You’ll even have time to catch dinner, visit the galleries, and get down to Lake Linden for their classic 3rd of July Fireworks.
Visit the Art District’s locations before this month’s First Friday to see June’s exhibits, including immense prints by Chris Guibert at Cross Country Sports, before they’re gone!
Run, carry, climb, push and crawl your way though 5 Kilometers of obstacles. Bring grit, determination and perseverance as your team battles the challenges and races against the competition. Course will start and finish at the Houghton Beach. The course route will utilize the Houghton Waterfront and surrounding features. Successful teams of three to five people ages 13 and up will need to be able to work together efficiently, be competent in all fitness domains – plus be willing to have some fun.

Proceeds from the The SISU Challenge will help support Michigan Technological University’s Army Reserve Officer Training Corps. The SISU Challenge will help fund a scholarship for incoming freshmen in Memory of Benjamin J. Hall. Some funds may also be used for a cadet scholarship to special training events.
The Fall Color Classic (previously Cobble Gobble) is a 8k run/walk put on by the North Woods Conservancy as a fundraiser for the Save Keweenaw Beaches effort. A fun romp through the woods and along the shore, the race starts and ends at the NWC Gratiot River North Trailhead. The course winds its way through parts of NWC Dore Woods, NWC Gratiot River North, the Gratiot River County Park, and includes 1.4k of cobble beach along stunning Lake Superior (see below).
Fat Bike cyclocross / criterium racing comes to the Michigan Tech ski trails Feb. 27. Just $5 for Michigan Tech Trails season pass holders! An additional $10 trail pass required for those without a season pass (trail love!).
Minimum 3.7″ tires, maximum fun!
This is race number five of the six-race UPCROSS snowcross series. There will be two race options – a short, 30 minute race starting at 5:00 p.m. sharp, and a longer 60 minute race starting at 5:40, with both men’s and women’s divisions for both races.

- Christmas Eve, Saturday December 24th we will be closing at 4:00pm
