Every Tuesday through March meet up with folks at Cross Country Sports and we will make our way over to the Swedetown Trail system for a fat bike ride. Swedetown Trail System allows fat biking every Tuesday night after 5pm. Call the shop or stop by if you’ve got questions. See you on Tuesdays!

Make it an evening in Downtown Calumet! There’s always new exhibitions at the art galleries, fine people and good food! There are even some talented singers if you know where to look!
“First Fridays” are a monthly event showcasing the talent of our area artists, and an excellent evening for socializing and networking.
The 9th annual Glide N Gorge will again be held on the Saturday of Copper Dog weekend. Come on out for great fun and better eats from noon until 3pm at the Maasto Hiihto ski trails in Hancock. (Navigate to “Maasto Hiihto and Churning Rapids Nordic Ski Area” on Tomasi Drive, Hancock, MI 49930.)
This is a fun event with great food. Bring your friends or get out and meet some new ones! See the Keweenaw Nordic Ski Club’s webpage more more information: http://keweenawnordic.org/glide-n-gorge/
Tickets for this event are $20 for adults; we invite kids to come for FREE! Get your tickets early – they go for $25 at the door. Consider purchasing extra tickets to give to friends. You’ll be supporting the trails by contributing to this annual fundraiser, plus by introducing others to the beauty of the Gorge.
Retro Ski – Sunday February 5, 2017
Jay sports proper retro-skiing garb. Woolies are optional, but recommended!
NEW THIS YEAR!
Introducing: “The Maasto Churning Grand Traverse”.
Skiers will meet at the Tomasi trailhead at 12:30 and head out for some fun backcountry skiing.
The route: We’ll start blazing trail almost right away, heading through the woods down to our Swedetown Creek fording spot. Next we’ll make our way to and over Ruby Marsh in Churning Rapids, then past the tower. We’ll glide on down Pow Pow and Finney Creek trail, then hit the groomed track to the Christensen Rd trail head.
The reward: After making all those tracks, we’ll retire to a local restaurant of the group’s choice for beverages and food. Plus smart talk and excellent stories, inspired by our epic ski!
Never done a “retro ski”? If you’ve got wood skis, bamboo poles, knickers and wool clothing – perfect! You’ll be stylin’. If you’ve got modern equipment and clothing – don’t let that stop you from joining the group. All skiers are welcome regardless of ability or equipment.
