The last several mornings have been GREAT crust skiing! And if you look at weather predictions, we’re likely to have crust every morning (and sometimes through the afternoon!) for the next week or two. If you’ve never tried it, well, you don’t know what you’re missing! I’ve been extolling the virtues of crust skiing since I don’t remember when but probably for 30 years or so. DO pick the time of day you ski by the conditions– generally not too late in the day. Just at sunrise is always the safest bet, and plan to be done before bright sun and above 32 degrees has softened the surface up too much. It generally takes 2 or 3 hours of warm to soften things up.
Also. pick your terrain. While ” the world is your trail”, some parts of the world make exceptionally difficult trails! Now go out and have fun!
