One of the most widely used Quick Release skewers in the entire bike industry is being recalled. Trek, being the biggest selling brand, is recalling approx. 1 million bike skewers used on bikes since the year 2000. Multiple other brands are sure to follow Trek’s lead in the next few days. This is for disc brake bikes with that lever– so if you own a disc brake bike of ANY BRAND, it would be wise to check the lever. Open the lever as far as possible and see if it can contact the disc. If so, stop riding the bike and get a replacement lever. IF you must ride, reverse the lever to the other side of the wheel until you can replace it.
